Registration

While you may browse our site at will, you must first register before placing an order. During registration you will be asked for mailing information (so that we can mail your purchase), a telephone number (in order to contact you if there are any problems), and your age (to verify that you are of legal age to purchase cigars), please note you must be at least 21 to purchase cigars in our site. Please note that the information you give to Fumée will NOT be sold or transferred to a third party, we will NOT mail or call you attempting to sell you anything. During the login you will also be asked if you wish to receive our newsletter, this has specials, news, and other information we consider pertinent to our customers. If you do not check the box we will NOT e-mail you apart from communication about specific orders you place. If you do subscribe to the newsletter and later change your mind, simply change the setting in your profile, or inform us and we will promptly remove you.

Fumée Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected on www.fumeeworld.com.

Social Security Numbers

We do not at any point collect or store social security numbers.

Surveys or Contests

From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code).

We use this information to inform the winner and apply the same standards to this information as the one collected during Registration (see above). We will NOT sell or share the information you provide, but may use it to communicate with you about featured specials. If we WILL use it that way this fact will be disclosed at the time the information is collected.

Tell-A-Friend

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. Fumée Inc. stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and assuring that malicious content is not being sent from our servers. We will NOT share or sell this information nor send any further communication to you or your friend unless requested, and will only store your friend’s e-mail for a limited time.

Your friend may contact us at contact@fumeeworld.com to request that we remove this information from our database.

Communications from the Site

Special Offers and Updates

We will occasionally send you information on products, special deals, and promotions if you checked to receive our newsletter. You can sign up for these emails from us on our registration page.

Service-related Announcements

We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if there is a shipping problem, we might send you an email or call you.

Customer Service

Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. We will communicate with you by email or telephone.

Agents

We use Authorize.Net, an outside credit card processing company to bill you for goods and services. This company has its own Privacy Policy, but below is their data retention policy as it was last communicated to us on August 22, 2007:

Authorize.Net will retain credit card information (number and expiration date) for 120 days in order to give a refund if one is requested.

The rest of the information, like name and address, is generally deleted after 2 years.

Authorize.Net shares this data exclusively with Fumée Inc. for the purpose of verifying that payment was received. However, your credit card number and expiration date are encrypted so no employee of Fumée Inc. will be able to view it.

Legal Disclaimer

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.

Log Files

As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We do not use cookies on this site.
