This cigar received the highest rating ever for a Brazilian cigar from Cigar Aficionado. And for only $5/stick, it's value that can't be beat. Dona Flor cigars are the creation of Felix Menendez, son of one of the most famous cigar manufacturers of all time, Alonso Menendez. Alonso Menendez gained eternal fame as the creator of the Montecristo brand and majority owner of the H Upmann factory in Cuba in the days before the Castro revolution.

The Dona Flor Selecao is a cigar made completely of Brazilian Tobacco, a region from which I have rarely smoked cigars. I really enjoyed the dark appearance of the wrapper and the cigar had a sweet smell to it before it was even lit. As a smoke, it was even and smooth. The cigar burned perfectly, with great white ash. The first two or three puffs of smoke hit me with some spice, but that flavor was quickly replaced with woody tastes. As I am a fan of the robusto, this cigar already had a head start in my books. I left no part of this stick unsmoked, a great little cigar!-Fumée featured reviewer Dave
